CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Parents can hear more from the head of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools about his plans for the district.

CMS Superintendent Heath Morrison is hosting a town hall Monday evening.

Morrison says he wants to hear what parents and community members have on their mind including CMS successes and challenges.

Tonight’s meeting is the second in a series of town hall meetings. People who attend the meeting can also expect to hear about the CMS retreat, which was held this weekend.

It was the first with new superintendent Morrison. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education and executive staff sat down as one group hoping to improve the school system.

According to Morrison, the two day retreat accomplished its goal.

“We have a large district,” Morrison said. “We serve many constituents, a lot of different households, we serve in many, many different ways and part of being a high functioning organization is always to say how do we get better and to commit to continuous improvement."

The town hall meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Harding University High School, and will include a question and answer session with Morrison.
