CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Election Day is just around the corner and many candidates are doing some last minute stumping.
The Mallard Creek BBQ plans to entertain close 20,000 people and that includes many politicians. If fact, the annual event hosts a line of folks who just want food and then another line where people can rub elbows with candidates.
According to organizers, candidates usually show up at the community house around lunch time, between 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
However, they say some will stick around all day. The church has some rules when it comes to stumping. They ask that candidates remain in the campaign area.
They also permit them to hand out flyers and buttons, but they say no guests should have campaigns material forced on them. The BBQ kicks off at Thursday morning at 10 am and runs till about 6:30.
