CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina's largest city is hosting another convention.
The International Association of Fire Chiefs has announced that Charlotte will host Fire-Rescue International in 2017. A statement from the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority says the convention is expected to draw approximately 7,500 delegates and produce $10.6 million in economic impact.
A team of IAFC members and partners spent the last year assessing proposals from cities around the country, looking at multiple factors, including facility size, local amenities and affordability.
The statement from CRVA didn't include a specific date for the convention.
