CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte couple is home from vacation with a warning for anyone headed to Mexico for spring break.
Samuel Pugh and his wife, Jessica, returned from their Cabo San Lucas trip two days early.
They say they were walking just a quarter-mile from their resort when five masked men pulled up in van around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and robbed them.
"And they had her and they had their hands up her skirt and they were groping her, and you know, they had guns in my face and every time I would go and try to get her they would put the guns up," said Samuel Pugh. "I didn't know what to do. I just pulled my wallet out and I had about $1,000, and I gave it to them and they just took off running and that was it."
Pugh believes they may have been set up by someone at the hotel who had been watching them.
He says they were so anxious to leave they left most of their belongings behind and did not call the embassy or police.
