CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- A Charlotte Fire Department truck has been involved in a wreck that sent two people to the hospital.

The wreck happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday at an intersection as an engine company responded to a rescue call.

Fire Department spokesman Rob Brisley says none of the four firefighters on the engine was hurt.

Two people in the car that hit the truck were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.

Brisley said the fire truck had its lights and sirens on at the time of the accident.
