CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Robyn Mahoney is one of the more than 400 people who purchased a deal off Living Social for a massage at Curatio Rehabilition.
Mahoney, who bought her deal for a one-hour massage about three months ago, said the spa couldn't fit her into its schedule until late-September.
"I had my appointment last Saturday and came here to find signs on the door," said Mahoney. The South Charlotte spa's doors are locked, with a sign from the county taped to the glass that notes a code-violation.
NBC Charlotte called the number listed for customers, but received a recording with an inbox too full to accept any new messages.
A phone call to the property manager revealed the Curatio owner was avoiding more than just the customers. The woman who answered the phone told us, " We are trying to work through the process of what is going on. We are as befuddled as everyone else."
The property manager did have information for Living Social customers, as well as the nearly 100 customers who purchased a Curatio deal off Groupon. She said the companies were refunding unused vochuers.
Mahoney called Living Social customer service.
"They verfied the business was closed and refunded my money."
If you purchased a deal for Curatio and have not used it yet, you can contact Customer Service for Living Social or Groupon to get a refund.
