CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Some Charlotte teen musicians got the chance of a lifetime -- to play in a France Symphony with other teens from around the world.

"Playing the violin has brought me to a lot of people and it’s given me a lot of experiences,” said Tatiana Krzesicki,  an 8th grader at Charlotte Latin.

She and six other teens from Mecklenburg and Gaston counties all traveled to France for a special performance.

The teens are members of the Charlotte Symphony Youth Orchestra. They just got back from a two week trip to France, where they played alongside teens from around the world.

“When when we got to play with each other..no one spoke a different language, it was all the same language, it was all music," said Krzesicki.

The girls traveled to the host city of Limoges -- one of Charlotte's sister cities -- for the special performance. While they weren’t playing their instruments, they were playing tourists.

“It was really great to be in front of the Eiffel Tower taking pictures and being like, oh wow, I’m actually here,” said Krzesicki.

The Eiffel Tower wowed them, so did the museums.

But it was the music they say that will truly stay with them.

“It was a really great experience to have kids from all different countries playing together sharing the love of music in the same orchestra,” Krzesicki said.

A love of music they fear is fading back home.

Ardrey Kell student Olivia Burns said, “I think it’s sad something as great as this is being left out.”

These girls are hoping to change that, one note at a time.
