Man faces 65 years in prison for attempted murder in Chesterfield County

CHERAW, S.C. -- Police arrested a Chesterfield County man in connection with an attempted murder case in Cheraw.

The incident happened April 19 near the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 52.

Investigators say David Ray Campbell, 49, fired a gun at a truck driving in the area. A bullet struck the rear passenger side of the vehicle, but no one in the vehicle was hurt.

Campbell is charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of pointing a firearm at another person.

Campbell faces up to 65 years in prison for all three charges.
