CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte City Council will vote on a plan to build a streetcar line Monday evening.

Charlotte won a federal grant for $25 million to build the streetcar line, but would need to spend roughly $12 million more to carry out the plan.

The track would run from the Transit Center on East Trade Street to Presbyterian Hospital.

Those supporting the project say it’s the first step towards something bigger, but some people say the plan isn’t worth the money.
