CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- City leaders are expected to vote on a scaled down plan to renovate Bank of America Stadium on Monday.
Under the new proposal, the city would chip in $87.5 million dollars for upgrades to the stadium, traffic control and security.
In return, the NFL franchise would commit to staying in the Queen City for at least six years – as opposed to 15 years under the original plan.
The Charlotte Chamber is asking Panthers fans to attend the meeting and show support for the team as city leaders vote on the new deal.
Fans are asked to wear their jerseys or t-shirts to Monday’s city council meeting.
The meeting will be held at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center in uptown starting at 7 p.m.
