CONCORD, N.C.-- The owner of a Concord coffee shop is getting support from her customers as she watches what's happening in her homeland of Haiti.
It is hard not to love Joyce Saint Cyr. The coffee shop owner is Haitian American -- and her customers just keep asking how she's doing.
"she's just loving, has a great outlook on life," recalls one customer.
"They're calling me, they're coming in, its just love, love love," says Saint Cyr.
She needs it, she has already heard from one good friend in Haiti.
"he said he just wants a good meal and some water, he has money in his pocket but he cant get food," says Saint Cyr.
But there is something worse, an unimaginable horror, the death of his little boy, a victim of the massive earthquake that has ravaged the small island country.
"Its disturbing to hear what he's going through. He is laying next to his child and making sure that his body is not taken. I couldn't even think about losing my child then laying there next," says Saint Cyr.
So the woman with the big heart and the customers crowding around her, are all coming together to give what they can to Joyce's homeland.
She is collecting non-perishable items at her coffee shop in Concord to send to Haiti.
"I wanted to donate and bring Joyce anything I could to help," one customer says.
"I am getting so much love, they're coming in, saying what can they do?" says Saint Cyr.
