CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A cold front is expected to move through the Charlotte region Thursday bringing the chance of showers and storms.
Rain is moving from the southwest and has the chance to bring heavy downpours and damaging winds to the region, according to the First Warn Storm Team.
A severe weather threat is minimal across western North Carolina. Main threats will be east of Interstate 77 into eastern North Carolina and South Carolina, according to First Warn Storm Meteorologist Brad Panovich.
The wet weather will move out late Thursday evening bringing cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. The chance for rain is at 40 percent today, according to the First Warn Storm Team.
Friday and Saturday will be clear and cooler with highs in the upper 60s.
