CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A chance for snow has come and gone from Charlotte, but a chance for icy roads remains for Thursday morning.

Snow showers fell over the mountain communities where a couple of inches of snow may fall.
There was a Winter Weather Advisory for Avery, Ashe and Watauga counties.

The snowfall started in the mountain region Wednesday afternoon and but slowly moved on from local counties.
Temperatures will fall into the low 20s overnight.
Thursday will be sunny in the afternoon but a lot colder, with highs in the mid 40s.
The Charlotte Department of Transportation will begin treating roads and bridges under a “Condition A” status.
Twelve trucks equipped with salt will make their rounds to prepare for upcoming weather.
CDOT warns drivers to be cautious and look out for black ice on local streets while traveling to working on Thursday.
Thursday will be sunny but chilly with temperatures in the low 40s. Tonight the temperatures will fall to the low 20s.
Friday should be partly to mostly cloudy with a rain in the afternoon. It will remain chilly, with high temperatures again the mid 40s. Look for temperatures to stay in the 40s over the weekend.
