CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A cold start to Friday will give way to warm temperatures for the weekend.
Temperatures started out in the 30s for Friday morning, but a quick warm-up is expected to push temps into the 60s for the afternoon and into the evening, according to the First Warn Storm Team.

"Warmer temperatures are expected to be here later today," forecaster Larry Sprinkle said. "It's shaping up to be a great day. Our high will be 64 and mostly sunny."
The forecast for St. Patrick's weekend is expected to be nice, too.

Saturday will be warmer with highs in the low 70s on Saturday and low to mid 60s on Sunday afternoon.
"This weekend will be nice," Sprinkle said. "We'll be in the 70s for Saturday. There is a small chance of rain on Sunday with clouds moving in."
There's a 30 percent chance of showers Sunday. Monday there's still a 40 percent chance of rain, according to the First Warn Storm Team.
