GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Fire crews responded to a blaze at a commercial plant in Gastonia early Sunday morning.
Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue, Union Road Volunteer Fire Department and Ranlo Fire & Rescue crews were called out to commercial plant fire around 2:20 Sunday morning in the 5500 block of York Highway in Gastonia.
Authorities say heavy smoke billowed from the side of the multi-story commercial plant when they arrived on scene at CBP Resources.
Firemen identified the source of the smoke as a large cooker in the plant.
Excessive heat build-up ignited the duct work around the device, officials say.
No injuries were reported.
Officials have not determined the monetary damages from the blaze.
