CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The weather should not be an issue for the New Year's Eve celebration around Charlotte.
A high pressure is moving through the Charlotte region Tuesday and is expected to bring temperatures just below average.
Partygoers attending Charlotte’s First Night celebration will experience temperatures in the mid 30s in the evening.
"It will be clear and chilly with temps in the mid 30s for New Year's Eve in the Charlotte area," forecaster Larry Sprinkle said.
New Year's Day will be sunny with some late day clouds. Highs will be around 52°. Thursday rain moves in by midday, and some could be heavy at times with highs in the lows 50s.
"The rain will move through Thursday afternoon and will be heavy at times in certain areas," Sprinkle said.
Friday into Saturday drying weather but much colder with highs in the upper 30s to around 40°.
