CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The cost for a family of four to live comfortably in Charlotte is $64,728.
That’s according to the Economic Policy Institute’s recently updated Family Budget Calculator.
The EPI says their findings show what it takes for a family to live free of serious economic deprivation. The cost given is what it takes to secure a “modest” living standard.
The numbers range from just over $48,000 in Marshall Co., Miss. to more than $93,000 in New York City. Charlotte falls just over the median of $63,238.
The EPI budget calculator allots the following for families of two adults and two children:
