CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Investigators say the fire that destroyed a model home Tuesday was an accident.
The Charlotte Fire Department arrived at the home on Scott Creek Drive just after 4 p.m. and found heavy fire and smoke.
It took nearly three dozen firefighters about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. No one was injured.
Fire investigators say air conditioning contractors were working on the home and using a torch, which started the fire.
