FORT MILL, S.C. -- There is controversy brewing after the owners of Cupcrazed in Fort Mill decorated their cupcakes with the red and pink marriage equality sign that many people are using as a show of support.
After posting pictures online the debate exploded. Many were for it and many against.
One person who wrote,” Now knowing their stance, I couldn't, under my conscience, ever eat there again because I do not approve of the homosexual, bi, transgender lifestyles."
Either way, the owner says she doesn't care.
"When people say they were never going to shop in this store again or they had issues with it, it really doesn't bother me because they can go somewhere else,” said owner Heather McDonnell. “There's plenty of people out there who will eat cake so if I'm not the shop for them, oh well."
The store sold out of the marriage equality cupcakes twice on Thursday. They plan to make more for the weekend along with Easter themed cupcakes.
As for the Supreme Court, it heard arguments for and against two separate same sex marriage bans this week. We expect justices to make a decision by the end of June.
