CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. – The man accused of driving drunk in a deadly car crash that happened in February has been indicted on several charges.
According to the Catawba County Clerk’s Office Brian Hieb has been indicted on charges of murder, assault with deadly weapon, felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury by vehicle, and DWI.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Brian Hieb's pickup hit a car head-on on Slanting Bridge Road near Sherrills Ford. A woman in that car, Sandra Campbell, was killed. Campbell’s 26-year-old son, Darren Moore, was in the car and suffered only minor injuries.
Hieb is awaiting trial on another DWI charge stemming from an August 2010 incident in Watauga County.
