CHESTER, S.C. -- The Chester County Sheriff's Office says someone has been trying to use counterfeit money at local stores.
Deputies say on Wednesday someone tried to use fake $5, $10 and $20 bills at the Pantry Express and a Hardee's in Chester.
Several other cases of counterfeit money have been reported throughout the county.
Deputies said in most cases the clerk noticed that the bill was fake because of its poor quality.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video in hopes of identifying a suspect.
Anyone with information on the case should call 803-581-5145 or 803-385-5433.
