CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Local volunteers are asking for the public's help to raise money for a dog that was shot.
Ethan is being cared for by the greater Charlotte SPCA.
Workers there say he was starving, had heart worm, and was bleeding from a gash on his face when a volunteer found him in South Carolina last week.
Then a X-ray revealed he was riddled with shotgun pellets. The organization is trying to raise about $500 for his care
"There's some cruel people out there. If a dog is loose on their property instead of calling animal control to try to get them somewhere, they would rather shoot them," said veterinarian William Pressley.
