CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A family dog was rescued after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in north Charlotte Wednesday morning. 

Charlotte firefighters were called to the Townes at University Pointe Wednesday morning off of Countryside Drive after a two-alarm fire damaged two apartment units. 

No one was at home during the time of the fire.  Emergency crews have not reported any injuries during the incident. 

Officials said the families were displaced during the fire.
