Fire breaks out at home in southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire in southeast Charlotte Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at around 10 a.m. at a home in the 4700 block of Doris Avenue near Monroe Road. Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the home.

Several emergency crews arrived and blocked part of the road.

There is no word yet if anyone was hurt during the fire.  An investigation is ongoing.
