SALISBURY, N.C. – Firefighters in Salisbury battled a two-house fire Friday afternoon.

The fire started around 4 p.m. on Chestnut Street.

One home was fully engulfed, and those flames spread to the neighboring house, burning all of the vinyl siding from an outer wall.

Firefighters were able to rescue a small dog that was inside a crate in the second home.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
