ELKINS, W.V. -- Snowshoe Mountain Resort saw its first snowfall of the season on Monday in West Virginia.
Snow began falling Monday around 9 a.m. and has continued throughout the day. The resort is scheduled to open on Saturday, December 8 depending on conditions.
Thousands of skiers from the Charlotte area and beyond flock to the resort each winter. Last year was a sub-par ski season due to unusually warm weather.
