STATESVILLE, N.C. -- A former UNC Charlotte basketball star and his girlfriend have been arrested on drug charges.
Rodney White and his girlfriend Nicole Jackson were arrested Tuesday in Iredell County and charged with managing a marijuana growing operation.
Iredell authorities received a tip of the grow operation and discovered more then four pounds of pot. White and Jackson were arrested at a Mooresville home. Three young children were in the home, too, according to authorities.
White, 31, led UNC Charlotte's basketball team to the 2001 NCAA tournament and was a first-round NBA draft pick.
White played in the NBA for five seasons with the Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers before being cut by the 76ers in 2005.
White is jailed under $25,000 bond, and Jackson is being held under $5,000 bond.
