IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- An investigation into a fraud report revealed the victim’s daughter was allegedly behind the crime.
The victim reported the case to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 11.
The woman told police someone used her debit card to buy more than $600 in merchandise from Macy’s.
Investigators say Maritza Summers, 32, called the bank and provided her mother’s personal information to obtain a debit card. Summers is charged with identity theft.
She was arrested and given a $5,000 unsecured bond.
