FORT MILL, S.C. -- Fire crews in Fort Mill responded to a fire in the downtown area on Thursday morning.

The Fort Mill Fire Department responded to a business in the 100 block of Clebourne Street in Thursday right around 11:30.

The Fort Mill Fire Department says they were initially called out to Tom Haw Street around 9:45 after a cement truck clipped power lines, causing an outage in the area.

Duke Energy restored the power to the area around 11:15.

Then, about a block away from where the cement truck struck the power lines, the call for the commercial fire came in for 105 Clebourne Street. A witness reported the fire after spotting smoke coming from behind the home.

The Fort Mill Fire Investigator and Fort Mill Code Enforcement are looking into the possibility that the power restoration and the business fire are connected.

The fire damage was contained to the business, which suffered a significant 75-percent loss from smoke and fire.

Authorities say York County EMS was not called to the scene.
