Funeral planned for man killed in CMPD shooting

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Funeral services have been scheduled for an unarmed man shot to death in Charlotte by a CMPD officer.

Tillman Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Fla. tells NBC Charlotte’s news partner, The Charlotte Observer, that visitation has been set for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. It will be held at Old Bethel AME Church ahead of Saturday’s 11 a.m. funeral at Old West Florida Enrichment Center.

Officer Randall Kerrick is charged with voluntary manslaughter for fatally shooting Ferrell ten times on Sept. 14.

The local group True Healing Under God, or THUG, plans to hold a memorial at the same time Saturday. It will be held at Temple Church International at 3201 Tuckaseegee Road.
