CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A 6-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was hit by a pickup truck Wednesday night.
Police arrested two men who they believe drove away from the scene.
The child was struck by a white Ford pickup in the 5300 block of North Sharon Amity Road, between Shamrock Drive and East W.T. Harris Boulevard.
The vehicle left the scene, but witnesses wrote down the license plate of the truck and police stopped the truck shortly afterward.
Police say 30-year-old Juan Carlos Carmona-Lopez was driving the truck. He has been charged with felony hit and run. His passenger, Geovani Islas Ramires, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for not cooperating with police.
The boy was listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
