HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The Huntersville Fire Department is rallying community support to help one of its firefighters.

Firefighter Jeff Reid has been fighting cancer for the past six years.  His doctor recently told him he needs a bone marrow transplant to survive.

Saturday, thge Huntersville Fire Department held a blood and bone marrow drive. Hundreds of people came out to see if they could be that life saving match for Reid.

"Oh yeah, we're going to beat this -- all of us together -- we'll beat it," said Reid.

Reid is currently on his third round of chemo and still works at Huntersville and Charlotte fire departments.
