CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The North Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close the exit ramp from the Interstate 277 inner loop to Interstate 77 south Tuesday night.
The exit ramp will be closed starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday and will reopen at 6 a.m. Wednesday. During the closure, crews will repair pavement on the ramp.
Traffic on I-85 North will be detoured later this week
NCDOT will also be detouring traffic on Interstate 85 Thursday and Friday.
Crews will be setting bridge girders for the future I-85/I-485 interchange in Charlotte from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday and Friday.
In order to safely place the bridge girders, traffic on I-85 north will be detoured around the work zone, according to NCDOT.
Motorists will be detoured to I-485 to U.S. 29 north to Bruton Smith Boulevard and back to I-85 north.
All lanes on I-85 south will remain open each night, NCDOT said.
