DAVIDSON, N.C. -- About 400 jobs will be coming to the Charlotte region over the next several years with the addition of a new headquarters for MSC Industrial Direct Co. Inc.
The company will operate a co-headquarters office in Davidson, which it says will create 400 jobs to the area by then end of 2017.
MSC Industrial Direct Co. Inc., a metalworking and industrial supplies distribution company, is currently based out of Melville, New York.
The company said it will build a 180,000 square foot building at the Harbor Place in Davidson, an investment of $31 million.
“Economic development is a very high priority for us,” said Davidson mayor John Woods. “We encourage the development of jobs, with the focus of making Davidson a great place to live and work.”
The company said the average wage for the new jobs will be $79,000 and will include jobs in management, IT, accounting, human resources and marketing.
