KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- A Kannapolis family escaped safely from a house fire early Monday morning.
The fire was reported shortly after 2:45 a.m. at a home off of Hahn Street. Fire officials said they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home.
Two adults and a child escaped safely from the burning home, along with the family’s two pet cats.
The American Red Cross is helping the family. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
