ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- Investigators with the Stanly County Sheriff's Office made an arrest in an armed robbery over the weekend near Albemarle.

Officials say 32-year-old Gary Lane Green, Jr. entered the Fast Stop Convenience Store on NC Highway 73, just west of Albemarle, wearing a bandana on Saturday night.

Green, authorities say, displayed a knife while threatening and demanding cash from the store employee.

Green was able to flee the store with the contents of the cash register, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Information obtained by investigators led them to Green, who was arrested on Tuesday.

Green was booked into the Stanly County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.
