LAKE NORMAN, N.C. --Lake Norman Charter School and CPCC have reopened following lockdowns on three campuses.

The LNC middle school and high school, as well as the CPCC Merancas campus, were secured following a report of armed gunmen near the college. A woman called police around 10:30 a.m. to say she saw two white men in the back parking lot remove guns from their car and walk toward the school.

Huntersville officers went door-to-door in the school searching for any suspicious activity, in addition to searching the grounds. They also looked for the suspects’ car, a tan Dodge Stratus, by helicopter.

Police are still searching for the vehicle.
