RICHBURG, S.C. -- A Lancaster man found dead on a Chester County road Sunday night was accused of raping a teenage girl just before his death.
Sometime between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a home on Old Mill Road in reference to a sexual assault call.
When deputies arrived on scene a woman came out of the residence and stated that Michael Terry just raped a teenage girl and left walking down Old Mill Road toward Peden Bridge Road.
Deputies left the residence and went down Old Mill Road looking for Terry. About a half mile down the road, deputies discovered Terry laying in the street, according to the report.
Terry was found covered in blood and did not appear to be breathing. A short while later Terry was pronounced dead at the scene by Chester County coroner, according to the police report.
Authorities said the teen was taken to Chester Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.
