HEATH SPRINGS, S.C. – An arrest has been made in the convenience store robbery.
Herbert Lamont Southern, 22, was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Police say he robbed The Swami Mart on South Main Street in Heath Springs, S.C., on Monday around 10p.m.
A store clerk says Southern entered the store and displayed a gun before firing one shot into the ceiling of the store.
The clerk opened the register and ran to the office to call 911 as the suspect removed cash from the register drawer and ran.
