Lanes on Monroe Road closed for repairs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The North Carolina Department of Transportation issued an emergency road closure for the inside lanes on Monroe Road near the intersection of Wendover Road on Thursday.
Lanes in both directions may be closed until mid-afternoon Friday so that crews can repair a sinkhole.
Central Avenue is suggested as an alternate route.
