CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Who would jump in to help you if you were in serious trouble?  A family member?  Good friend?

In Lincoln County, one child is making a difference for a friend in need. At age 10, Raemy Wensil has already faced life's hard lessons.

"I was still 10 when he died in December,” she said as she looked at a picture of her grandfather.

Robert Wensil died  of leukemia.

"I felt good because it was long time since I had seen him,” she says through tears.

Now...that feeling again.

"It's just important because I love her,” she says fighting back the tears once again.

This time a friend.  A close friend.

Joyce Hoyle goes to Wensil’s church.  Hoyle has colon cancer and doesn't have enough insurance to pay all the bills.

So the 10-year-old decided to do  what she could…make hair bows. At a dollar a piece she  is making a difference.  Her mom is helping.

"Who would have thought that a 10-year-old saying I'm going to give the money to Joyce would've turned into this huge? It's unbelievable,” said Merodie Wensil, Raemy’s mom.

In only a few days Wensil and a few friends have  raised more than 13-hundred dollars...one bow at a time.

“I just love her.  She's really nice,” she  said.

And when you're 10, and a friend needs your help, you do something.  Raemy Wensil is.

If you’d like to order a bow, you can go to Merodie Wensil’s facebook page to learn more.

If you would like to donate to this cause please make check payable to Pearl Baptist Church.
