CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Because of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, some local schools are tightening up their security.

NBC Charlotte has heard about some changes at CMS schools, like parents not being able to walk their kids to class, but district officials won't confirm those changes with us right now.

Union County schools added new security doors over the holiday break, and say all classroom doors are locked.

Both districts plan to review their procedures this week.
