GASTONIA, N.C. -- A Gastonia man was arrested for having two pounds of marijuana on him after an undercover operation, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's office.

James William Edwards, Jr., 26, was charged with one felony count each of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.

Deputies said they set up an undercover operation and purchased pot from Edwards. After the sale was made, authorities arrested Edwards and seized two pounds of marijuana and $2,400 cash.

Street value of the marijuana was placed at $1,600 to $2,000 depending on how it would have been sold, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.

Edwards was released after posting a $20,000 secured bond.
