MONROE, N.C. -- Monroe police arrested a man accused of choking and tying up his girlfriend at motel on Monday afternoon.

Police charged Ice Tee Hudson with second degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, assault on a female, assault in the presence of a minor and child abuse after a fight with his girlfriend at the Economy Inn on West Roosevelt Boulevard in Monroe.

Hudson is accused of choking his girlfriend and tying her hands and feet to a motel bed with trash bags and biting her after an argument with her.

Police also said Hudson hit his 1-year-old child twice with a belt during the incident.

The girlfriend told police that Hudson untied her after an hour and she able to get the front office of the motel and call police.

After police arrived on the scene, Hudson had already left but was arrested a short time later.
