MORGANTON, N.C. -- A man died after being hit by a train Monday night, according to Morganton police.
Officers said the man--who has yet to be identified--was hit on the tracks near Church Street and Hogan Street just after 9 p.m. Monday.
A Norfolk Southern train traveling west hit the man, who was lying on the tracks. According to the train’s conductor the man appeared unresponsive as the train approached.
The investigation into the case is continuing.
