CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man was struck by lightning in southwest Charlotte Monday night, according to his family--who said this is the third time he's been hit in his life.
The man was in the parking lot of the Steele Creek Cafe when he was hit by lightning, according to the cafe's owner.
Witnesses called 911 after a young girl in the cafe saw the man lying on the ground. Strong storms rolled through the Charlotte-area Monday evening, around the same time witnesses said the man was struck.
Paramedics said that the man suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center.
