MATTHEWS, N.C. -- A homeowners' association in Matthews isn't going to give up on their fight to rid their neighborhood of goats. Specifically, two dwarf goats named Fred and Barney.
Tina Steiner and her husband fought the Windrow Estates HOA to allow them to keep those goats as pets. The black and white goats are full-grown at 30 pounds -- about the size of a medium-sized dog.
Recently, a judge agreed that Fred and Barney are pets and not livestock.
Now, the HOA has filed a notice of appeal. The lawyer for the Steiners says that could drag the case out for another six months.
Windrow Estates does allow people to keep horses as pets.
