RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory says lots of Democrats also want him in North Carolina's Executive Mansion.

McCrory's campaign rolled out Wednesday a list of nearly 150 Democrats in 72 counties that are leaders of a coalition aimed at electing him governor next month.

The coalition's top leaders are two sitting legislators -- Reps. Jim Crawford of Oxford and Dewey Hill of Columbus County. Both voted for the Republican-authored budgets of the past two years even though most Democrats voted no.

Hill and Crawford say McCrory will put the interests of the state above any political party.

The campaign says other coalition leaders include the mayor of Clayton, former mayors of Greenville and Salisbury and the former co-chairman of Democrat Richard Moore's 2008 gubernatorial campaign.
