MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. -- Local GOP leaders are hashing out their game plan.
Dozens attended the annual Mecklenburg County GOP Convention at West Charlotte High School.
NBC Charlotte spotted a few new faces in the crowd -- including a candidate for Charlotte City Council who said the GOP needs to work on getting its message out there.
“I think it's really important that we work on helping folks in Mecklenburg County understand that there are really good reasons to vote in favor of growth and for lower taxes for our residents and for sensible, fiscally responsible decisions,” said Kate Pyrle candidate for Charlotte City Council District 6.
In addition to ratifying a new platform and voting on resolutions, delegates also elected a new Chairman and Vice Chairman for the Mecklenburg County Republican Party.
