MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- A Mooresville man is facing child sex charges after a 13-year-old girl told her mother she'd been sexually assaulted.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office obtained a statement from the victim, prompting an interview with the suspect, 43-year-old Jason Brock Powers.
Following the interview on Tuesday, three felony warrants for rape of a child by an adult offender were issued for Powers. Officers executed the warrants at Powers' home, but were unable to locate him.
Information led officers to a construction site, where he was arrested without incident on Thursday.
Powers was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
